Dr. Dre

Never underestimate the power of the force. After all, Star Wars and The Chronic invented the blockbuster in their respective mediums. But rather than rattle lightsabers, Dr. Dre, and his rebels wielded infrared gats. To most audiences, they depicted galaxies far, far away, and navigated terrain strewn with extraordinary violence and exotic women. It's no coincidence that the gangsta rap godfather commenced Chronic 2001 with the trademarked "Deep Note" effect introduces every film with THX sound. Like most geniuses, Dre and George Lucas are creatures of the laboratory storytellers capable of capturing archetypes worthy of Joseph Campbell and scientists tinkering with pre existing products to create improved versions. Like Dre said on "Still Dre" he takes time to perfect a beat. This explains why, a decade after 2001 and a quarter-century after The World Class Wreckin' Cru, Andre Young's influence remains inescapable. In a world given to short attention spans and shameless self-promotion. Dre's retained a massive audience that awaits his return with messianic fervor. When you have the force, people will remain patient. That's why it's still Dre day every day. And if you disagree, most will find a lack of faith disturbing.
